Big Bill Broonzy - Goin' Down This Road

Um dos maiores representantes do blues de todos os tempos. Sua primeira gravação foi Big Bill's Blues, de 1927. Em 1938 tocou no festival John Hammond's "From Spirituals To Swing", no lugar de Robert Johnson, que havia morrido pouco tempo antes da realização do show. Pioneiro no estilo Chicago Blues quando começou a utilizar instrumentos elétricos, mesmo sem nunca abandonar o folk-blues de raiz e os rags. Compôs e gravou alguns dos maiores clássicos do gênero, entre 1927 e 1942, registrando 224 músicas,. É cultuado pelos grandes seguidores do blues e rock, como Clapton que tornou imortal “sua” Key to the Highway, presente num dos maiores discos de rock da história: Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, de 1970, e Hey Hey, lançada no famoso álbum Eric Clapton - Unplugged. Faleceu em 1958 devido a um câncer na garganta. Impossível falar em blues sem reverenciar Big Bill Broonzy.
